Lou has a background of working with the public to teach and implement conservation science.  He holds a degree in Geography from Augustana College. This interdisciplinary program focuses on meeting with land-use professionals and collaborating with public stakeholders. For five summers, Lou took guests on land and water-based tours in Southeast Alaska, where he learned to share science in a way that people can relate.

In the off-season, Lou traveled to Catalina Island, where he taught at Catalina Environmental Leadership Program. On Catalina, Lou managed the service program, where student volunteers would come to practice ecological restoration and soil conservation practices. Lou is very excited to be back in Rock Island. He looks forward to assisting farm operators in reaching their goals by using conservation best practices and the strong financial data that Precision Conservation Management provides.
